Well Hello! Yes – I’m Sarah!
I’m more often than not the voice on the other end of the phone here at Smart Boating... except if it’s a man – then that would probably be David! Oh... and I am the voice on the answering machine and also a voice you may just hear around the Marina as I love to chat! I was born in Sydney, grew up in Forestville and I have one sister. We’re twins - her name is Naomi... I am the younger one! She’ll love that I included that! I could also say I am the better behaved one – but that may be debatable! Ha! We’re very close and great friends. As a family we lived with my grandparents growing up... My Grandfather was a 'man of the sea', a Major and a Marine Engineer with the Army. He was amazingly clever – that’s probably where I get it from! Ha! He had a small yacht which was his pride and joy... he was a tinkerer and could spend hours on it! It was moored under Roseville Bridge for many years and we used to venture out on that when we were growing up. I now live in Elanora Heights with my partner Grant and the best house rabbit in the world named Violet. She sure makes us smile! Snow skiing is a passion and I have been fortunate enough to spend a great deal of time in the Alpine areas of NSW and also Victoria, Austria, Canada, Japan and New Zealand. I worked a season in Austria and also in the UK. I was previously employed in the Hospitality and Travel Industry and spent a lot of time on the road working as a Tour Guide. I have been with SmartBoating for the past 3 years. I really love the work I do and I consider myself so fortunate to be surrounded by the people I work with and the environment I work in. Sounds corny – but it’s so true! I like to get out on Pittwater whenever I can but still have an enormous amount to learn about the world of sailing. I have been involved in the Ladies Twilight Sailing Comp for the past few seasons – and I have really enjoyed that. The furthest afield I have sailed is to Port Stephens... which I have been lucky enough to do a couple of times... it’s a start! There’s a saying that goes something like... 'If you love your job you needn’t work a day in your life!'... I like this one... because that’s what I think! I’ve claimed it as my own!
